School Social Worker -Full time, regular position.  WI DPI certification as a school social worker (7050) is required.  The primary responsibility will be to provide a variety of counseling, support, and and services to students and families to assist students in coping with personal and psychological issues that affect their school performance, behavior, and socialization.

 

The following are essential:

  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on working within a team structure;
  • Ability to embrace a collaborative leadership role;
  • Skills to facilitate/participate in a consultative problem solving process as a vehicle for planning, implementing, and evaluating mental health services, and the skills needed to communicate with staff, families and community professionals

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Performs casework services with individual students to solve problems in areas of personal, social, or emotional difficulties interfering with their educational and social development.
  • Works collaboratively with school personnel, community service providers, and families in assessing, planning, establishing, and implementing services/interventions for students
  • Serves as a liaison between the school, family and community;
  • Serve as McKinney-Vento designee;
  • Coordinates School-based mental health services

Special Education Instructional Aide. Westwood Elementary School - Part-time, temporary position (remainder of 2018-19 school year), five hours per day, follows the school calendar, and does not include insurance benefits.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent of a two-year associate degree (preferably to include courses in education or hold a valid Wisconsin teaching certificate)
  • Ability and willingness to work with students of all abilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic educational classroom operations
  • High degree of organization, self-initiative and accuracy in work performed
  • Possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and project a positive and courteous attitude and image to the staff, students, and community
  • Ability and skills needed to work as part of an educational team

This position is as needed with hours to be determined based upon availability. Salary is $155/day.  Insurance benefits are not available for this position. This position is as needed with hours to be determined based upon availability. Insurance benefits are not available for this position. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, a positive attitude, strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to work as part of a team. Duties include but are not limited to daily set up/prepping procedures, serving students, and clean-up.
