MISSION STATEMENT

Recognizing that schools and programs will change as a result of changes in our global society, the Board of Education and the District are continually seeking improvement for the benefit of students.Recognizing that decisions regarding change can be difficult, the Board has established a basic mission statement and set of beliefs to assist in determining the appropriateness of changing programs, practices, etc.


The mission of the School District of West De Pere is to create a comprehensive educational and social environment for students, and staff which will produce life-long learners with the capacity to succeed in the global community.

MISSION

The mission of the School District of West De Pere is to create a comprehensive educational and social environment for students, faculty, and staff, which will produce graduates with the unlimited capacity to compete in a superior manner in any challenge they undertake.

1.   Continue implementing strategies that address student achievement based on WKCE results .

2.   Provide transition to and operation of all the school facilities

WESTWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GOALS

1. Increase overall reading skills of all K-5 students by 5% as measured by the WKCE and local assessments.

2. Continue with a focus in math providing a challenging child centered learning environment in which students are supported and growth is documented.

3. Strive for a seamless transition to an EC-5 building and create a positive learning environment.

HEMLOCK CREEK SCHOOL GOALS

WEST DE PERE MIDDLE SCHOOL GOALS

1. Investigate and implement literacy initiatives to improve school-wide literacy by guiding all students to meet and/or exceed their target Rasch Unit Score (RIT) goal in reading as identified by the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment.

2. Conclude 6-8 math and science curriculum reviews, including the identification of objectives, sequences, and selection of resources.

WEST DE PERE HIGH SCHOOL GOALS

1. Investigate and implement literacy initiatives building-wide in order to enhance student achievement across all content areas.

2. Review and select 9-12 science program, sequence and resources.

3. Continue implementing strategies that address student achievement based on WKCE results.
