Kathleen Held will assume the duty of principal at Hemlock Creek Elementary School beginning July 1, 2007. Ms. Held served as elementary principal for the past six years. Three years in Jackson, Michigan and three at Park School, a PreK-4 facility in Marinette, Wisconsin. Prior to that, she was an elementary teacher and K-6 computer teacher in Crystal Falls, Michigan. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in elementary education. In 1998 she received her Masters Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Northern Michigan University. She is currently a member of the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA), Association of Curriculum and Development, and National Association of Elementary School Principals.
Superintendent, Dr. Lanny J. Tibaldo states, “We had fifty-two applicants for the position and were extremely impressed with the candidates interviewed. Ms. Held will be an excellent fit for Hemlock Creek Elementary School because of her experience and understanding of elementary level youth and staff, academic programs, and staff development. To quote Ms. Held, “I am excited about the opportunity to come to this district where community support is so evident. I am looking forward to working with a dedicated staff and am anxious to meet the students and their families. Being named principal at Hemlock Creek is a dream come true. I will work as a child advocate and be a supportive building principal to staff and parents.”
