Basic Background You May Want to Know:
My husband and I moved to De Pere right after we graduated from UW-Stevens Point and were married in the summer of 1998. I was hired here at West De Pere just two weeks before school began that year, and I have been here ever since. I also plan to stay here for the duration of my career because this is an awesome school and I feel fortunate to be working alongside such talented and dedicated teachers. (Plus, it would take too much time to disassemble all of my terrariums, fish tanks, and package up my collections, specimens, and plants!)
School Related Tidbits:
Advisor of the Ecology Club since 2005 . Here’s what we do:
* we are part of the Lower Fox River Watershed Monitoring Project
(www.uwgb.edu/watershed ) which means that the students conduct real
scientific fieldwork and lab analysis on nearby Ashwaubenon Creek
*Adopt-a-Highway cleanup on Ashland Avenue between 9th Street and Lombardi *we hope to stencil storm drains in West De Pere to raise awareness of urban non-point source pollution impacts on the Fox River Secured West De Pere as a Solarwise school

which means that starting in 2008, 3 of our classrooms will be powered solely by the sun, and we will be sending a team of students to compete in the Solar Olympics

When I’m Not at School…..
My husband and I had a daughter in 2003, and each year has been an amazing journey—she is my favorite “hobby”. We also have been geocachers since she was 6 months old. (See www.geocaching.com ) Geocaching is a terrific sport that takes you to amazing places that you probably would never see otherwise. It’s the perfect combination of treasure hunting, hiking, technology, and adventure. Additionally, I love working in my yard; planting shrubs, trees, and perennials, redesigning flower beds, and tending the garden. Basically, I love being outside.
