MRS. LINDBECK
"Then said a
teacher, Speak to us of Teaching. And he said: No man can reveal to you aught but that
which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your knowledge. The teacher who walks in
the shadow of the temple, among his followers, gives not of his wisdom but rather of his
faith and his lovingness. If he is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of his
wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind."
- The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran |
If you have ever had the privelage to be in one of Mrs.
Lindbeck's classes, you've probably already heard quite a few (often humorous) stories
about her childhood, adulthood, even teacherhood. You make you think you know it all, but here's the opportunity to learn a
little more!
Mrs. Lindbeck grew up in Caspian,
Michigan and then moved to Ashland, Wisconsin to attend Northland College. She transferred
to Central Michigan University, where she earned her B.A. in English and Sociology.
After college, Mrs. Lindbeck taught English,
Sociology, and Cultural/Physical Anthropology at Ashwaubenon High School. From there, she
tried something new and became an insurance agent for M.S.I. Insurance. Eventually,
and luckily for us, she decided to come to West De Pere High School and begin
teaching again in the English department.
Her Family
Her husband, Carl, is retired and spends his time building cars, and has also recently made a motorcycle (pictured below). She has two
children, Nate and Kristin. Kristin is currently working in the fashion industry in New York City, and Nate works in the insurance business in New Berlin.
Hobbies
When she's not grading papers, Mrs.
Lindbeck loves to read. She
also enjoys working on crafts, trying to develop a green thumb, and playing the
piano. Not only that, but she and her husband enjoy working on and rebuilding old cars.
