BOOSTER CLUB SUPPORT FORM REQUEST
All parents with students in High School athletics are members of the Booster Club. Club meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month in the High School Commons. If you aren’t able to attend the meetings, it would be appreciated if you could volunteer at the concession stands for the home sporting events, Packer home game concessions, and the Pink Flamingo Tournament. It’s a great way to meet other parents and have fun while helping raise funds to support our athletic program.

Meeting Minutes
March 12, 2008
7:02 pm – Meeting called to order
Attendance: Kelly VandenLangenberg, Lori Bloemer, Lori Jaeger, Amy Gildernick, Bonnie Linssen, Jodi Schleis, Colleen Caine, Lynn Katers, Bill Turnquist, Steve Linssen, Lynn Aland, Greg Smith
Treasurer’s Report: February’s report was reviewed, motion to approve by Lynn Aland and seconded by Kelly VandenLangenberg
Secretary’s Report: February’s meeting minutes were reviewed, amendment made, motion to approve by Amy Gildernick and seconded by Steve Linssen
Apparel Report: No active sales currently Mike from Logos and Promos offered to sell WDPHS apparel out of his store since customers are coming in and asking if they can buy it there. After discussion, Lynn Katers offered to build an apparel website and have a link to it on the high school’s website. Details will be given at the next meeting.
• Old Business
Winter Banquet: $700 was collected at the door. All positive comments were received. Some quantities of food will have to be adjusted. Notes will be made on that. Though the numbers were the same for the fall banquet, different sports, different athletes, i.e. football players versus pom team so closer review on amounts will be needed for the next banquet.
Scholarship Application: A few small adjustments were made to the scholarship application. Members felt it is important to have a more diverse group reviewing the applications to include an alumni, administrator, guidance counselor and booster club members. It was voted on and current version was approved. Committee members include: Greg Smith, Lisa Boyd, Karen Ambrosius, Amy Gildernick, Lori Bloemer and Steve Linssen.
• New Business
Concession Lead: Spring sports will be starting soon and concession leads are needed for the following:
Girls Soccer - Lynn Aland will lead
Baseball - Bonnie and Steve Linssen will lead
Softball - Amy Gildernick and Lori Jaeger will lead
Track - Lynn Katers will consider and confirm
7th & 8th grade - need volunteer
Pom Request: Jennifer made a request for a boom box style traveling stereo system for the squad and it was approved for $200.00.
Nominations for Board: Voting in new board members was held. All votes were unanimous as follows:
Treasurer: Lori Jaeger
Secretary: Amy Gildernick
Vice President: Steve Linssen
Co-Presidents: Kelly VandenLangenberg and Lori Bloemer
• Other Items to Address
Pink Flamingo: Bonnie Linssen discussed with Lois Veau and Dave Van De Hei concerns about Pink Flamingo. The Booster Club is guaranteed a minimum of $1,000 for working the concessions at the Pink Flamingo. Amount given is determined by proceeds from the weekend event and number of groups benefiting. The Pink Flamingo’s have all been very generous in the items they have given the Booster Club, i.e. new grill, food for special events, etc. and are willing to share their time helping in whatever area we need for fundraising.
Bonnie has volunteered to oversee this year’s event with volunteers and being the main contact with the Pink Flamingos.
