F.C.C.L.A.
centers its activities around the theme of "Families Helping
America." The acronym stands for "Family, Career and Community
Leaders of America. The focus each month is on a project that benefits
others. Some of the activities include gifts for nursing home residents
and needy families in the community. An annual shamrock shake sale on St.
Patrick's Day benefits the Ronald McDonald house in Milwaukee, and each year the
members present a program to the elementary schools for the American Lung
Association on the health hazards of smoking.
Last year a trip to the University Hospital and the Ronald McDonald
House in Madison were large activities with the club. Anyone
interested in joining the organization is welcome to attend the meetings.
