Overview:
VICA is a national organization serving high school and college students and instructors
who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations,
including health occupations.
Membership:
VICA has 239,000 student members annually, organized into more than 13,000 chapters and 53
state and territorial associations (including Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands).
Mission:
VICA is an applied method for preparing America's high performance workers in public
vocational-technical programs. It provides quality education experiences for students in
leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces
self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at
work: high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride in the
dignity of work. VICA also promotes understanding of the free enterprise system and
involvement in community service.
Partners:
Currently, some 13,500 teachers and school administrators serve as professional VICA
members and instructors. Nationally, more than 500 business, industry and labor sponsors
actively support National VICA through financial aid, in-kind contributions, and
involvement of their people
in VICA activities. Many more work directly with state associations and local chapters.
Programs:
VICA programs include local, state and national competitions in which students demonstrate
occupational and leadership skills. At the annual national-level Skills USA Championships,
approximately 3,800 students compete in 66 occupational and leadership skill areas. VICA
programs
also help to establish industry standards for job skill training in the classroom.

VICA at West De Pere
Fundraiser
Every year West De Pere High School VICA runs a
Craft Festival. We sell tables during the summer to local and state wide crafters.
The festival is held on a Sunday in the end of September. All VICA members
are encouraged to work at the festival helping out with setting up, helping move in
crafters, selling food, parking cars, taking admission, moving out crafters and cleaning
up. To get everyone to help West VICA offers five dollars toward state and national
dues. Through selling tables, admission, and working in
the kitchen West VICA earns enough money to function the rest of the year.
