2019 STOWE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is only available to West De Pere High School graduates who are now attending a 4-year college.

Deadline:  April 18, 2019

 

A.   GSAFE YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship has been developed to allow students who have demonstrated interest and a commitment to promoting just and respectful schools for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender issues.  We especially encourage youth of color and transgender and non-binary youth to apply.

Deadline:  January 11, 2019 

 

B.  HARDIE-FLANIGAN-RUEPPEL GRANT

A grant of $1000 will be available to anyone who plans to major in education or an education related field.  Financial need for assistance is considered. 

Deadline:  March 7, 2019

 

C.  WEST DE PERE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Any senior is eligible to apply for this scholarship sponsored by the West De Pere Education Association.  In the past this scholarship favored the student pursuing a major in education or the student of a parent educator.  The number of scholarships offered depends on funds available.    

Deadline:  March 15, 2019

 

D.  OMNOVA

The student must major in a science related field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science.  Medical fields and Computer Science are NOT included.  You must have a GPA of 3.30 or better.     

Deadline:  January 18, 2019

 

E.   WISCONSIN PROFESSIONAL POLICE SCHOLARSHIP

Any Wisconsin resident enrolling in a college/technical school in a course of study leading to a two or four-year degree in police science or criminal justice is eligible. 

Deadline:  February 1, 2019

 

F.  TIP Talent Incentive Program Grant

Any senior may be eligible to receive TIP grant monies if you qualify.  Some qualifiers include being the first generation college student in your family, being an independent student, being a minority, being eligible for reduced lunch, being from a single parent family, your parents never went to college, parents are unemployed and do not receive unemployment.  Access a hard copy in Student Services or Go to:  https://dpi.wi.gov/weop/tip-grant.

There is no deadline, but the sooner you apply the greater chances are of getting available funding. 

 

 

H.   ELLINGTON INSURANCE COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP

There are $500 scholarships available for graduating seniors who are children of policyholders of Ellington Mutual Insurance Company.

Deadline:  March 1, 2019

 

I.     AURORA HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for students who are enrolling in a Wisconsin higher education program to pursue a career in health care.  (Five) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to high school and college students.    

Deadline:  February 28, 2019

 

J.    LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS - Four year & Technical College

This one application makes you eligible for all the local scholarships that are available and that meet your eligibility requirements.

De Pere Kiwanis - two $500 Technical College

De Pere Optimist – two $1000 College

De Pere Rotary – two college and two technical college nominated and winners selected receive scholarship

De Pere Rotary Outstanding Student Award - $750

Distinguished Student - (Scholarships Inc.) - $500

Lions Club International – Every year $500.  College or Tech

Woman’s Club of De Pere - $500

K.    SCHOLARSHIPS INC.

These awards are limited to Brown County High School graduating seniors for attendance at any degree-granting four-year college or university and technical colleges.  This includes nursing colleges.  This one application makes you eligible for numerous scholarship awards.  Several West De Pere students will be selected.  Over $600,000 in scholarships were awarded to area students every year.  Please take time with the personal statement…it is worth 50% of the selection criteria.  There are two required essays and an additional optional essay – copies of the essay questions are available in Student Services.  We suggest you send the counselor report notice as soon as you begin the application process – please send the counselor report notice to your school counselor either A thru G: lboyd@wdpsd.com H thru O: rbrecklin@wdpsd.com or P thru Z: rklingeisen@wdpsd.com. Do not wait until the application is completed to do this.  The application must be fully completed online at: www.scholarshipsinc.org by 2:00 p.m. April 2nd.

Deadline:  April 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.

 

L.   WDP BOOSTER CLUB ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP 

Seniors who have participated in any WIAA recognized program including the Pom and Dance team on the varsity level are eligible.  The Booster Club may award up to $7500 annually to be divided among the chosen applicants with a maximum award not to exceed $500 per applicant.  Applications are available on the West De Pere website and in Student Services.  Click on High School, scroll down to Booster Club and click on Booster Club Scholarship.  Applications can be dropped off in the athletic office.

M.  WEST DE PERE PHANTOM SCHOLARSHIP 

The Phantom scholarship has been created, supported and financed by Alumni of West De Pere High School.  The Alumni want to support the educational aspirations of graduates that have exhibited significant academic success and extensive co-curricular involvement.  The evaluation of the scholarship will be based on the applicant’s leadership, character, overall grade point, co-curricular participation and community service. 

 DEADLINE:  March 8, 2019

 

O.   CHALLENGE THE OUTDOORS INCORPORATED

You must have a GPA of at least 2.5 AND be physically challenged AND pursuing a post-secondary education. 

Deadline:  April 10, 2019

 

P.    GSA SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is open to any senior who has been and will plan to continue being an advocate for LGBTQ+ issues while attending an institution of higher learning. 

Deadline:  March 20, 2019

 

Q.    KIWANIS CLUB OF GREEN BAY - DOWNTOWN

At least four $1500 scholarships are for those students who will be continuing on in the areas of Math or Science and all engineering areas.  One factor in the selection process is the applicant’s interaction with youth having social or special needs.

R.    FFA ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP 

Criteria:  Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher, be an active FFA member and be of graduating senior status.  Preference will be given to a student pursuing an agribusiness related field of study.   

 Deadline:  April 5, 2019

 

S.    REBEKAH SCHOLARSHIP 

Consideration for the Rebekah Scholarship Award (at the state level) is based on the applicant’s financial need, desire for further education, community service, ethical and moral standards and academic achievement.

THOMAS H. LUTSEY Waseda Farms Scholarship

You must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and demonstrate leadership skills.  Preference is also given to students pursuing degrees that enhance rural communities and who have a rural or agricultural background and demonstrate financial need.  Examples of degrees would be veterinary science, dairy science, agricultural engineering, biotechnology, computer science and business administration.  Go to:  www.lutsey.org to access the application.  Available after January 1.

WISCONSIN RESTAURANT ASSOC. SCHOLARSHIP

Students must be attending a University of Wisconsin Technical College and pursuing a degree in Food Service and Hospitality.  Complete the online application at:  http://wirestaurant.org/education-foundation/scholarships.

AB NICHOLAS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

The foundation will offer up to 60 Wisconsin public high school graduates a scholarship based on need, academics and character.  It is open to both boys and girls who are involved with a basketball program in the senior year.  You can find more information at:  www.AbNicholasScholars.org.  The scholarship is available online starting February 1.

WISCONSIN CZECHS, INC.

This organization awards four $750 scholarships.  A portion of your ancestry must include Czech, Slovak, Moravian, Silesian or Ruthenian heritage.  The student, parent or grandparent must be a member of Wisconsin Czechs Inc.  You can see more information on the website at:  www.wiczechs.com

CELLCOM SCHOLARSHIP

The applicant or parent must be a Cellcom customer.  Minimum GPA of 3.5 and have at least 75 volunteer hours.  Financial need is not considered.  16 scholarships will be awarded valued at $750 each.  Go to:  www.cellcom.com/events.
